Baby Friendly Cafes and Restaurants

We are so lucky to have loads of baby and toddler friendly cafes and restaurants across Kirklees and Calderdale. Whether you want a chilled afternoon at a play cafe or a big family dinner, we know a place.

What do you fancy?

Play Cafes

As a first time mum I’m new to the world of play cafes, but I’m quickly becoming a big fan. Little ones get to explore some new toys, while you get to have a hot drink and a cake.

Coffee Shops & Cafes

I’m definitely no stranger to a cafe, but since becoming a mum my criteria for a good caf’ has changed. Baby changing, pram access and baby feeding friendly are all essentials here!

Restaurants & Pubs

Whether you’re after an easy Sunday roast or just somewhere to escape the house, these are the restaurants and pubs that actually make families feel welcome.

Baby-friendly high chairs

Let’s talk high chairs

Forgive me if this is boring, but can we just talk about good high chairs for a sec? When my little one was just starting to sit unsupported, we found loads of high chairs in cafes that just didn’t feel safe; there was often just a strip of fabric to stop him slipping out the bottom, and he was so small he could have easily fit through one leg hole.

A high chair can make or break your experience of a cafe; a good supporting chair means you can eat your meal with (mostly) two hands, whereas a bad chair means baby is either on your knee or you’re holding them into the seat for dear life – neither of which are great for a relaxing cuppa and cake. So, I’ve noted down everywhere I’ve been with a good, solid, supportive high chair that will be great for babies just starting to sit up independently.
